Australia opener David Warner described Pakistan batsman Iftikhar Ahmed as “brave” following the conclusion of the three-match Twenty20 series.

Warner was highly impressed with Iftikhar’s knock in the third Twenty20 International in Perth as he scored a 37-ball 45, which included six boundaries.

Iftikhar took the fight to the Australian bowlers even though Pakistan kept losing wickets at regular intervals in the match, which Australia won by 10 wickets.

Iftikhar also starred in the second Twenty20 International, which Australia won by seven wickets, at he struck a career-best 62 not out, which came off 34 balls and included five boundaries and three sixes.

“Iftikhar Ahmed came out to bat and backed himself which is brave and that is what you have to do,” Warner was quoted as saying by cricketpakistan.com.pk. “Even when you are losing wickets you come out and back your ability. If that’s the way he plays with freedom, then so be it.”
