Former Pakistan skipper Moin Khan has lashed out at the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for sacking Sarfaraz Ahmed as captain.

Sarfaraz was removed as Test and Twenty20 captain, and replaced by Azhar Ali and Babar Azam in the longest and shortest formats respectively.

However, Moin feels that Sarfaraz didn’t deserve to be stripped of the captaincy, especially in Twenty20 Internationals, where Pakistan are currently the top-ranked side.

“I think it was a ridiculous decision to remove Sarfaraz Ahmed from captaincy, especially [in] the T20 format,” he told cricketpakistan.com.pk. “Pakistan were the number one side under his captaincy for almost a year, which is a remarkable achievement in the shortest format of the game.”

In addition to being sacked as captain, Sarfaraz was also dropped for Pakistan’s upcoming tour of Australia, which will consist of three Twenty20 Internationals from November 3 to 8, and two Tests from November 21 to December 3.

  1. Dual role given to Misbah is the big mistake and over time we will all be witness.

He is and will remain a star batsmen for Pakistan and played great where batting needs steady support by absorbing enormous amount of pressure.

He should of been a batting coach and grooming new lads.

Sending ao many young players to Australian tour not a wise move either. I get you want to give the new talent a chance but this is not the way to do it.

You will shatter their confidence , pitches are fast and they are not use to of that.

Wish our countrymen nothing but the best but hope to see the light at the end of tunnel.

Last but not least, Azam captaincy cant be judged with how team performance on the tour.
He still got plenty to learn and hope making him captain doesnt result hindering his batting.
