Pakistan head coach and chief selector Misbah-ul-Haq has said that “we’ll see what happens” in regards to whether Sharjeel Khan will play international cricket again.

Sharjeel was banned for five years for his involvement in a corruption scandal in the 2017 edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), with two-and-a-half years being suspended.

The 30-year-old now needs to complete his rehabilitation, which should be done by the end of the year, and he will then be allowed to “reintegrate into top level cricket”, according to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

Since he has not started playing domestic cricket, Misbah noted that it is too early to say whether he will play for Pakistan again.

“Sharjeel has, I think, gotten permission to play club cricket. Once he plays, we’ll see what happens,” Misbah was quoted as saying by PakPassion.
