Legendary all-rounder Shahid Afridi has backed batsman Babar Azam to become the second Pakistan player to score a double century in an ODI.
As of now, opening batsman Fakhar Zaman is the only Pakistan player to have accomplished that feat, as he struck a breathtaking 210 not out against Zimbabwe in Bulawayo in July last year.
However, given how consistent Azam has been, and the fact that he performed in the World Cup and has been maintaining his form in the ongoing limited overs series against Sri Lanka, Afridi is confident that the 24-year-old will score a double hundred at some point.
“I say to Babar Azam I want you to play long innings and you are not just a 50 runs type player, rather you are capable of scoring 100, 150 or 200,” Afridi said on his YouTube channel as quoted by the Times of India.
