Steve Smith struck 11 boundaries during his knock of 82

Following Steve Smith’s magnificent 82, which set England 383 to win, Pat Cummins struck twice in consecutive deliveries to leave Australia eight wickets away from retaining the Ashes.
Starting off the day on 200/5, England added 28 runs to their overnight score before Jonny Bairstow was clean bowled by Mitchell Starc for 17.
Ben Stokes mustered 26 runs before he was caught by Smith at second slip off the bowling of Starc.
Jofra Archer was caught behind off the bowling of Pat Cummins for one run, while Stuart Broad was cleaned up by Starc for five runs.
England ended up being bowled out for 301, which gave Australia a 196-run lead, when Jos Buttler was clean bowled by Cummins for 41.
Josh Hazlewood was the pick of the bowlers with four wickets, while Starc and Cummins chipped in with three wickets apiece.
With a 196-run lead in hand, Australia got off to an awful start in their second innings as opener David Warner was trapped lbw off the bowling of Broad for a duck, which marked the sixth time in eight innings that Broad has dismissed him in this Ashes series.
Marcus Harris suffered the same fate as Warner after scoring six runs, while Marnus Labuschagne was given out lbw off the bowling of Archer for 11 runs.
Travis Head was the next to go as he was cleaned up by Archer for 12 runs.
Smith and Matthew Wade stabilised the innings with a 105-run partnership, during which Smith surpassed his fifty, before he was caught by Stokes at long-off off the bowling of Jack Leach for 82, which came off 92 balls and included 11 boundaries.
Wade went on to score 34 before he was caught behind off the bowling of Archer.
Australia captain Tim Paine and Starc added 28 runs to the score before Australia declared on 186/6, which set England 383 to win.
Paine ended up making 23, which came off 18 balls and included four boundaries, while Starc remained unbeaten on three.
Archer was the most successful bowler with three wickets, while Broad took two and Leach claimed one.
Chasing 383 to win, England were dealt a huge blow on the third ball of their innings as Rory Burns was sent packing by Cummins for a duck.
Things went from bad to worse the very next ball as England skipper Joe Root was clean bowled for a golden duck.
Joe Denly and Jason Roy managed to forge an unbeaten 18-run partnership before stumps was called.
Denly finished on 10, which came off 23 balls and included a boundary, while Roy remained undefeated on eight, which came off 15 deliveries and included a boundary.
Cummins took both England wickets that fell.
England ended day four on 18/2 and will continue batting on Sunday at 11:00 local time or 10:00 GMT.
