Zaheer Abbas: “The PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) must focus on bringing the world’s top teams like Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and England to Pakistan”

Legendary Pakistan batsman Zaheer Abbas has admitted that the key to reviving international cricket in the nation “once and for all” is to convince top sides like Australia and England to tour the country.

Sri Lanka will be playing a limited overs series in Pakistan later this month, which will consist of three ODIs in Karachi and three Twenty20 Internationals in Lahore.

Prior to this, Sri Lanka played a Twenty20 International in Lahore in October 2017, while the West Indies played a three-match Twenty20 series in Karachi in April 2018.

However, while international cricket is slowly trickling back into Pakistan, Abbas noted that the process will be rapidly sped up if top teams visit and play in the country.

“The PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) must focus on bringing the world’s top teams like Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and England to Pakistan as their one visit here can help revive international cricket in the country once and for all,” he was quoted as saying by the Business Recorder.
