Pakistan left-arm seamer Sohail Tanvir has admitted that fellow left-armer Mohammad Amir has really impressed him as of late.

Amir was Pakistan’s most successful bowler at the World Cup as he took 17 wickets in eight games at an average of 21.05.

Amir’s superb performance at the showpiece event comes after he took five wickets in 15 ODIs at an average of 92.60 between the conclusion of the Champions Trophy in 2017 and prior to the start of the World Cup.

“Amir was not swinging the ball earlier, which [was] why he was unable to get wickets. Luckily, during the World Cup, he was able to generate swing and use the angle well,” Tanvir told cricketpakistan.com.pk. “As a new ball bowler, it is important to pick up wickets up front and this is precisely what he did.”
