Former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif believes that New Zealand will win the World Cup on Sunday.

New Zealand will go up against England at Lord’s, and both teams have never won the tournament before.

While Latif acknowledged that England are a strong side and beat defending champions Australia in the semi-finals, he feels New Zealand will have less pressure on them since England are playing on home soil.

On top of that, New Zealand stunned India in the semi-finals as they defended a score of 239 and triumphed by 18 runs.

“[The] World Cup is over for Pakistan and now my favourite team to lift the title today is New Zealand as they played superb cricket to outclass India,” Latif told The Nation. “England also played superb cricket to dethrone holders Australia. But to me, New Zealand is the team to beat for the title. It’s true, England have the home advantage and momentum is also with them, but New Zealand will play without any pressure.”
