Pakistan left-arm seamer Mohammad Amir believes that he is “getting back to my best” following his superb World Cup campaign.

Amir was Pakistan’s highest wicket-taker in the tournament with 17 wickets in eight matches at an average of 21.05.

Considering that he only took five wickets in 15 ODIs at an average of 92.60 between the conclusion of the Champions Trophy in 2017 and prior to the start of the ongoing World Cup, Amir believes that he is getting back to the level where he needs to be.

With that in mind, Amir revealed that he is now starting to focus on other aspects of his game, such as his speed.

“Now I am getting back to my best, when you are taking wickets and are performing then you can think about other things, so now I am focusing on my speed. But, it’s all about your fitness and because [you are] fit, you [can increase your] speed as well,” Amir told Essex Cricket TV as quoted by the Business Recorder.
