Babar Azam: “I know my game. I know how to play. I know how to plan my game according to the conditions”

Pakistan batsman Babar Azam has issued a fiery message to his critics, who believe that he is not only playing too slow, but also for himself rather than the team.
Azam was Pakistan’s best batsman at the World Cup as he accumulated 474 runs in eight matches, which included a century and three fifties, at an average of 67.71.
Azam insists that while he is bothered by such criticism, he knows how to approach every game and plays according to the conditions.

“It doesn’t matter how strong you are, these things do bother you,” he told the International Cricket Council (ICC). “I know my game. I know how to play. I know how to plan my game according to the conditions.
“Secondly, I follow the team’s plan. Sometimes you have to play positively and play in attacking mode. But sometimes you have to play defensively as well because if the players are out, then you have to stretch the game, you have to take your time. So, I play according to the conditions and make the plan. And my individual plan is always that I play all the overs.”
