Legendary Pakistan left-arm seamer Wasim Akram has admitted that the national team will have to “fight” to beat Bangladesh in their World Cup clash at Lord’s on Friday.

Akram’s comments come after Pakistan narrowly escaped with a three-wicket win in their thrilling match against Afghanistan at Headingley on Saturday.

With Pakistan managing to win with two balls to spare, it kept their hopes of qualifying for the World Cup semi-finals alive.

However, given how Bangladesh have been playing as of late, Akram admitted that Pakistan have to bring their A-game.

“Pakistan [will] have to fight against Bangladesh in their last game,” Akram was quoted as saying by the Business Recorder.

If Pakistan beat Bangladesh, they will have to hope that New Zealand beats England on Wednesday as that will secure them a spot in the semi-finals.
