Pakistan all-rounder Imad Wasim saluted left-arm seamer Wahab Riaz for his heroic performance against Afghanistan at Headingley on Saturday.
Imad noted that Wahab took two wickets and scored a crucial 15 runs with a broken little finger on his right hand.
Imad admitted that Wahab’s bravery and courage was truly inspiring, and his efforts with both the bat and ball ensured the men in green won by three wickets and kept their hopes of qualifying for the World Cup semi-finals alive.
“I will give credit to Wahab, he got bashed a lot but he played with a broken finger today. He bowled with it and then hit a crucial four and six which helped us win. Salute to him for doing so well for Pakistan,” Imad was quoted as saying by PakPassion.
With Pakistan having defeated Afghanistan, they will now have to beat Bangladesh at Lord’s on Friday to have any chance of reaching the last four.
