Pakistan spin-bowling all-rounder Imad Wasim has admitted that Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan was causing him a lot of problems when he was batting.

Since Imad had a tough time facing Rashid, he decided to take a more cautious approach against him and target other bowlers.

In the end, Imad was named Man of the Match as he struck an unbeaten 49, which came off 54 balls and included five boundaries, to lead Pakistan to a thrilling three-wicket win with two balls to spare.

“Rashid was bowling brilliantly; I couldn’t pick him to be honest but we decided to hang in there and play 50 overs and then see the result, we knew that if we played 50 overs, we had the capability to win the game,” Imad was quoted as saying by PakPassion.

“If we took chances against him we might’ve given him a wicket. So we were focused on just seeing him out. We knew they were a bowler short so we targeted that.”

With Pakistan having defeated Afghanistan, they will now have to beat Bangladesh at Lord’s on Friday to have any chance of reaching the last four.
