Azhar Ali: “He is capable of repeating history and can win the World Cup for Pakistan as well”

Pakistan batsman Azhar Ali firmly believes that captain Sarfraz Ahmed can captain the national team to World Cup glory.

Pakistan are currently in the running to qualify for the semi-finals, but they will have to beat Bangladesh at Lord’s on Friday in order to keep their hopes of reaching the last four alive.

If Pakistan go on to reach the semi-finals and then proceed to win the tournament, it will be the first time they have won the World Cup since 1992.

“Sarfraz is very passionate and leading the team well. He has won major trophies like the Under-19 World Cup and Champions Trophy in the past for Pakistan,” Azhar told cricketpakistan.com.pk. “He is capable of repeating history and can win the World Cup for Pakistan as well.”
