Legendary Pakistan pace bowler Shoaib Akhtar has admitted that he was highly impressed with the way Babar Azam batted against New Zealand on Wednesday.
Azam led Pakistan to a six-wicket win with his unbeaten knock of 101, which came off 127 balls and included 11 boundaries.
Azam’s knock earned him the Man of the Match award and helped Pakistan keep their hopes of qualifying for the World Cup semi-finals alive. It also led to New Zealand suffering their first loss in the tournament.
Match winning inning from Babar Azam. Brilliant display of talent by Haris Sohail. What a class act he is turning out to be.
Shaheen Afridi bowled with pace & aggression.

“Match winning innings from Babar Azam,” Akhtar said on Twitter.
Pakistan’s next World Cup match will be against Afghanistan at Headingley on Saturday.
If they beat Afghanistan, Pakistan will then have to take down Bangladesh at Lord’s on July 5 in order to have any chance of reaching the last four.
However, even if they defeat Afghanistan and Bangladesh, it might not be enough as they will have to rely on the results of other matches.
