Mohammad Amir: “Definitely, we can beat India”

Pakistan left-arm seamer Mohammad Amir believes that his side can “definitely” beat India in their World Cup clash on Sunday.

Amir’s comments come after Pakistan lost to Australia by 41 runs in Taunton on Wednesday.

Pakistan will play India in Manchester, and the men in green will be looking to snap their winless streak against their arch-rivals as India have triumphed in their six World Cup meetings to date.

However, Pakistan can take confidence from the fact that they demolished India by 180 runs in the Champions Trophy final in 2017.

“All games are pressure games in the World Cup, same for India. We’ll have to come with a positive mindset against India. We have to win every game now and we’ll try our best,” Amir was quoted as saying by PakPassion.

“Definitely, we can beat India. Today also our batting took the game deep. If we’re a bit more mentally strong, insha’Allah we will win.”
