Former Pakistan captain Ramiz Raja has advised the national team to bat first if the weather is sunny and they win the toss in their World Cup match against Australia in Taunton on Wednesday.

The men in green have endured a turbulent start to their World Cup campaign as they lost their World Cup opener to the West Indies by seven wickets.

However, they bounced back in brilliant fashion as they beat England by 14 runs.

They couldn’t build on that win, however, as their third match against Sri Lanka was washed out.

“The pitch at Taunton is grassy and if the weather is sunny on Wednesday, then Pakistan should bat first after winning the toss,” he was quoted as saying by Geo.tv.

Ramiz added that it is imperative Pakistan don’t lose early wickets when they are batting.

“Pakistan must not lose a wicket to Australia in the first 10 overs,” he said.
