Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed has revealed that his side will adopt the same “aggressive approach” they did against England when they take on Australia in the World Cup on Wednesday.

Pakistan have endured a turbulent start to their World Cup campaign as they lost their World Cup opener to the West Indies by seven wickets.

However, they bounced back in brilliant fashion as they beat England by 14 runs.

They couldn’t build on that win, however, as their third match against Sri Lanka was washed out.

Sarfraz admitted that while Pakistan haven’t beaten Australia often, they faced the same situation when going up against England.

It should also be noted that Australia whitewashed Pakistan 5-0 in March, but the men in green rested many of their key players for that ODI series.

“We have not won many matches against Australia but we had not won too many against England either,” Sarfraz was quoted as saying by Geo.tv. “But we have finally beaten England and that has given us a lot of positives.

“We will go with the aggressive approach we showed against England.”

Sarfraz also knows that Australia will be looking to bounce back from their 36-run loss to India on Sunday.

“We know Australia will try to come back and with [Steve] Smith and [David] Warner back they are at their best again,” he said. “We respect all our opponents and are ready for them.”
