The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have reached out to Cricket South Africa in order to try and get the Proteas to tour the country.

ESPNcricinfo reported that PCB managing director Wasim Khan requested that Cricket South Africa send the national team to Pakistan.

However, nothing has been confirmed yet, including when the series would be held if it were to go ahead and how many matches it would consist of.

South Africa last toured Pakistan in 2007, but it should be noted that Proteas skipper Faf du Plessis captained a World XI side in a three-match Twenty20 series against Pakistan in Lahore in September 2017.

As of late, Sri Lanka visited Pakistan for a one-off Twenty20 International in October 2017, while the West Indies played a three-match Twenty20 series in Karachi in April 2018.
