Former Pakistan leg-spinner Abdul Qadir believes that batsman Babar Azam will be the country’s next captain.
Qadir feels that Azam has all the qualities needed to be a good captain and called on the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to make him vice-captain.
Through this, Azam can gain some leadership experience and be ready to take over from Sarfraz Ahmed when the time arises.
“The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) should appoint Babar Azam as vice-captain and prepare him for the captaincy, as he is almost certain to lead Pakistan in the future,” Qadir was quoted as saying by cricketpakistan.com.pk. “The PCB should introduce a system of appointing vice-captains which was missing during the tenure of previous captains like Misbah-ul-Haq and Mohammad Hafeez.”
Let Abdul Qadir be non-playing captain.
