Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed has admitted that opener Fakhar Zaman can “turn matches in your favour with his hard-hitting abilities”.
Sarfraz’s comments come after Zaman struck a sensational 138 in the second ODI against England in Southampton on Saturday.
Even though Pakistan lost the match by 12 runs, Sarfraz conceded that it was great to see Zaman back to his best with the bat.
“It is one the positives for us that Fakhar is back in form. He can turn matches in your favour with his hard-hitting abilities,” Sarfraz was quoted as saying by arysports.tv.
Pakistan will be hoping that Zaman maintains his form at the World Cup, which begins in England and Wales on May 30.
The men in green will begin their World Cup campaign against the West Indies in Nottingham on May 31.
