Legendary India all-rounder Kapil Dev believes there is a possibility Pakistan can make it to the semi-finals at the World Cup.

Kapil pointed out that he is backing India, England and Australia to reach the last four.

However, in regards to the final spot in the semi-finals, he feels it will be a tussle between Pakistan, New Zealand and South Africa.

“The top three teams in the league stage will be India, England and Australia. The fourth one is doubtful as I expect a group of teams to fight for it. [It] can be between New Zealand, Pakistan and South Africa,” he was quoted as saying by the Business Recorder.

Meanwhile, Kapil admitted that India have the right mix of youth and experience in their squad going into the World Cup.

“The team has a great combination of youth and experience. In my opinion, they have the right balance and of course, there is Dhoni and Kohli. India will definitely be in the top four. But that is where it gets tricky. They have a good team, but belief and performance will be key,” he said.

Pakistan begin their World Cup campaign against the West Indies in Nottingham on May 31.
