Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed has admitted that pace bowler Mohammad Hasnain is capable of being the x-factor for the national team at the World Cup.

Hasnain, who is capable of bowling at speeds around 150km/h, was picked ahead of left-arm seamers Mohammad Amir and Usman Khan Shinwari when Pakistan announced their World Cup team last month.

Hasnain made his international debut in the recent five-match ODI series against Australia, where he took two wickets in three games at an average of 78.

He was called up to the national team for his performance in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), where he claimed 12 wickets in seven games for the Quetta Gladiators at an average of 17.58.

“Hasnain is a promising young talent and his performance in PSL 4 was also really good,” Sarfraz was quoted as saying by cricketpakistan.com.pk. “His raw pace, which goes past 150 plus clicks, can be the x-factor we need at the World Cup.”

Pakistan will begin their World Cup campaign against the West Indies in Nottingham on May 31.
