Pakistan head coach Mickey Arthur has reiterated that pace bowler Mohammad Hasnain can be an x-factor at the World Cup.

Arthur’s remarks come after he made similar comments about the 19-year-old last month.

Hasnain was selected ahead of left-arm seamers Mohammad Amir and Usman Khan Shinwari when Pakistan announced their World Cup team last month.

Hasnain made his international debut in the recent five-match ODI series against Australia, where he took two wickets in three games at an average of 78.

He was called up to the national team for his performance in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), where he claimed 12 wickets in seven games for the Quetta Gladiators at an average of 17.58.

“His pace is the most impressive and he has the potential of an international player,” Arthur told AFP as quoted by The News International. “He could be the x-factor for us.”

Pakistan will begin their World Cup campaign against the West Indies in Nottingham on May 31.
