Hasan Ali has been lambasted for claiming to take a catch cleanly when he appeared to have dropped it

Pakistan pace bowler Hasan Ali has been heavily criticised for claiming a catch off his own bowling that he seemed to have dropped.
In Pakistan’s one-day warm-up game against Kent, Hasan caught and bowled Alex Blake for a 48-ball 89.
The only problem was that Hasan appeared to have dropped the ball and seemingly attempted to mask that fact through his trademark celebration.

Unaware of what had happened, Blake began walking back to the pavilion, but Ollie Robinson, who was at the crease with Blake, protested the legitimacy of the catch.
According to Law 33.3 of the ICC’s one-day international playing conditions, a catch will be deemed completed once once “a fielder obtains complete control over both the ball and his own movement”.
Pakistan went on to win the match by 100 runs as Imad Wasim hammered an unbeaten 117 off 78 balls and took a wicket.
Opener Fakhar Zaman and batsman Haris Sohail also fared well in the match as they smashed 76 and 75 respectively.
As for Kent, Blake was the team’s top-scorer, while Robinson made 49.
