Former Pakistan pace bowler Aaqib Javed believes that Pakistan are capable of winning the World Cup, which begins in England and Wales next month.
Javed’s optimism stems from the fact that Pakistan won the Champions Trophy in England in 2017.
However, even though the men in green have been in poor form in ODIs this year, Javed is backing them to put up a strong performance at the World Cup.
“I’m optimistic about Pakistan’s chances at the World Cup because of our past record in England,” he told cricketpakistan.com.pk.
Pakistan will begin their World Cup campaign against the West Indies in Nottingham on May 31.
