Khyber Pakhtunkhwa batsman Khushdil Shah has revealed that the secret behind his big-hitting ability is hard work and practice.

Khushdil’s comments come after he stole the spotlight in the Pakistan Cup, where he was the second-highest run-scorer with 316 runs in five matches, which included two centuries, at an average of 105.33.

During the tournament, the 24-year-old hit 23 boundaries and 15 sixes.

The number of sixes he hit only lagged behind that of Umar Akmal, who struck 17.

Akmal was also the highest run-scorer with 342 runs in five games for Balochistan, which included a century and two fifties, at an average of 85.50.

“I really feel that my training and hard work is behind my ability to hit the big shots with ease,” he told PakPassion. “Apart from one-day matches, I also get to take part in Twenty20 games, so I have put in even more effort to train myself to play big run-scoring shots.”
