Ex-Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Rashid Latif firmly believes that opening batsman Abid Ali will be included in Pakistan’s World Cup squad.
Latif’s thoughts come after Abid scored a spectacular 112 in his ODI debut in the fourth ODI against Australia on Friday.
Despite his knock and Mohammad Rizwan’s sparkling innings of 104, it wasn’t enough to lead Pakistan to victory as they lost the match by six runs.
“I believe Abid Ali has punched his ticket to the World Cup,” Latif was quoted as saying by the Business Recorder.
With Pakistan 4-0 down in the series, they will be looking to secure a consolation win in the fifth ODI, which will be held in Dubai on Sunday.
