Legendary Pakistan seamer Shoaib Akhtar has claimed that he will work for free if he is given a job by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

Akhtar made the remarks as he is infuriated with Pakistan’s performances as of late.

Pakistan were whitewashed 3-0 in their Test series against South Africa, while they lost the ODI and Twenty20 series 3-2 and 2-1 respectively.

In the ongoing five-match ODI series against Australia in the United Arab Emirates, they have already lost the series as they were 3-0 down.

Akhtar criticised the selectors for the team that was selected for the ODI series as they decided to rest captain Sarfraz Ahmed, Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi, Fakhar Zaman, Shadab Khan and Hasan Ali.

“If the idea was to prepare for the World Cup, then you have messed up in a big way,” he was quoted as saying by PakPassion. “We as players will be used as pawns forever, but no one wants to talk about the real issue and no one wants to solve it too.

Why doesn’t a good strong [qualified] person come into the PCB? I am free of worry about money as Alhamdulillah, I have enough. If I am given a job [in the PCB], I will do it as a volunteer but I will do as per my wishes and I won’t let the Pakistan side play like this; this is not acceptable.”
