Ex-Pakistan left-arm seamer Wasim Akram believes that pace bowler Hasan Ali needs to work on his ability to swing the ball.
Akram has no doubt that Hasan is a talented cricketer and has a knack of taking wickets, but he feels that the 24-year-old could be even more lethal if he were to work on swinging the ball.
“I think Hasan tries, he tries around the wicket, goes over the wicket, and utilizes his skill and ability to the maximum,” Akram was quoted as saying by the Business Recorder. “However, he needs to learn how to swing the ball, I think he is a pretty decent cricketer, is talented and fit but he needs to learn a bit of swing as well.”
In the three-Test series against South Africa, Hasan, who featured in two matches, took six wickets at an average of 44.50.
As for the ongoing ODI series, he has claimed two wickets in three matches at an average of 53. However, he did smash a career-best 59 in the second ODI in Durban.
