Former Pakistan captain Ramiz Raja believes that it was a “huge selection mistake” to drop spinner Yasir Shah for the third Test against South Africa in Johannesburg.
Yasir was removed from the playing XI after taking just one wicket in the first two Tests at an average of 123.
Despite his lack of wickets, Ramiz firmly feels that Pakistan should have persisted with him in the ongoing Test at The Wanderers.
“Yasir was unfairly dropped because the side will need him on this (Wanderers) pitch,” Ramiz was quoted as saying by the Business Recorder. “Unfortunately, the leggie was dropped due to the low performance from the batsmen because it created pressure on him, as Pakistan decided to pick all-rounders. I think this is a huge selection mistake.”
