India secured a 2-1 series lead and retained the Border-Gavaskar Trophy after they demolished Australia by 137 runs on the final day of the third Test in Melbourne.
Starting off the day on 258/8, Australia only added three runs to their overnight score before Pat Cummins was caught by Cheteshwar Pujara at first slip off the bowling of Jasprit Bumrah for a career-best 63, which came off 114 balls and included five boundaries and a six.
Australia were bowled out for 261 the very next over as Nathan Lyon was caught behind off the bowling of Ishant Sharma for seven runs.
Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja picked up three wickets apiece, while Ishant and Mohammed Shami claimed two wickets each.
Bumrah was named Man of the Match for taking nine wickets in total.
