Former Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Rashid Latif has admitted that captain Sarfraz Ahmed needs to score more runs.

In 2018, Sarfraz has failed to have much of an impact with the bat in ODIs as he has scored just one half-century, which was a knock of 51 against New Zealand in January.

Overall, the 31-year-old has scored 113 runs in ODIs this year at an average of 18.66.

“Of course, Sarfraz needs to score some runs, which will automatically remove pressure and help him relax. The more Sarfraz is relaxed, the better he will help the team,” Latif was quoted as saying by The Nation.

Sarfraz will have an opportunity to turn his fortunes around with the bat when Pakistan go up against arch-rivals India in their Asia Cup Super Four match on Sunday.
