Colin Munro walloped a 56-ball 90 as the Trinbago Knight Riders demolished the Guyana Amazon Warriors by 67 runs.
Choosing to bowl first, the Amazon Warriors got their first breakthrough on the fifth ball of the match as Sohail Tanvir removed Knight Riders opener Chris Lynn for a duck.
Munro and Denesh Ramdin made up for the early loss of Lynn as they amassed a 135-run partnership, during which Munro raced past his half-century.
Ramdin ended up making 39 before he was caught by Imran Tahir at long-on off the bowling of Chris Green.
Munro went on to score 90 off 56 balls, which included 10 boundaries and four sixes, before he was caught by Green at long-on off the bowling of Romario Shepherd.
The Knight Riders lost wickets in a hurry after Munro’s dismissal as they went from 140/3 to finishing on 170/7.
Tanvir and Shepherd picked up three wickets apiece, while Green chipped in with one.
Chasing 171 to win, the Amazon Warriors made a horrible start to their innings as opener Luke Ronchi was trapped lbw off the bowling of Ali Khan for a golden duck.
Chadwick Walton, who opened the batting with Ronchi, only scored four runs before being clean bowled by Khary Pierre.
Things continued to go downhill for the Amazon Warriors as they lost wickets at regular intervals.
With Roshon Primus and Jason Mohammed being the only batsmen to make useful contributions with scores of 36 not out and 27 respectively, the Amazon Warriors were skittled out for 103.
Ali was the most successful bowler with three wickets, while Pierre, Fawad Ahmed and captain Dwayne Bravo took two wickets apiece. As for Sunil Narine, he claimed one.
Munro was named Man of the Match.
