Former Pakistan captain Aamir Sohail feels that current skipper Sarfraz Ahmed needs to bat lower down the order since he is failing to have much of an impact when he promotes himself.

Sarfraz has expressed his desire to bat at No. 4 after enjoying some success in the position, but Sohail believes that such a move would be detrimental for Pakistan in the long run.

Instead of batting at No. 4, Sohail pointed out that Sarfraz would be better suited to coming in at No. 7.

“What I want to see is Sarfaraz Ahmed batting at number 7 because whenever he promotes himself in the batting order, he has struggled and if I’m being honest then I am surprised with his technique at the moment,” Sohail wrote in his blog for PakPassion.

Explaining what is wrong what Sarfraz’s technique, Sohail wrote: “He is squatting too much at the crease before the ball is delivered and getting up from there is quite difficult. When you are trying to get up from that awkward position, you actually lose sight of the ball. This is something Sarfaraz needs to address and work on. If Sarfaraz bats at number seven, then there may be room for Mohammad Hafeez in the starting eleven.”
