Pakistan left-arm seamer Mohammad Amir is eager to have his name etched on the Lords honour board once again.

The first Test between England and Pakistan, which will get underway on May 24, will be held at the historic venue.

Going into the fixture, Amir has been in good form as he took five wickets in the Test match against Ireland, who were making their debut in the longest format.

Back in 2010, Amir took figures of 6-84 in the fourth Test against England at Lord’s. However, that was also the match where Amir ended up being convicted of spot-fixing and banned for five years.

Having served his suspension and made his comeback, Amir reiterated that he is determined to see his name on the Lord’s honour board once again.

“Our team this time is very young but they are very keen to play at Lord’s and are very excited. Everyone wants to get their name on the honour board and I am also looking [to do] it the second time,” Amir told ESPNcricinfo as quoted by the Business Recorder.

Meanwhile, Amir also admitted that he is not getting the same kind of swing when he burst onto the international scene since the pitches nowadays are a lot flatter.

Furthermore, he revealed that he did not train at all during his five-year ban.

“The one main reason is because I am coming back after five years and since then, cricket has changed completely as it is much faster and the wickets are little bit flat now as well,” he said. “In the five years, I didn’t [train or bowl], so it is difficult. But, I am still trying to swing the ball because when you are swinging the ball, you will get wickets.”
