Pakistan will be without left-arm seamer Junaid Khan for their limited overs tour of New Zealand after he was diagnosed with a stress fracture in his foot.
It is understood that Junaid sustained the injury when he hit a ball onto his foot while playing for the Khulna Titans in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).
As a result, the Pakistan Cricket Board’s medical panel has advised the 27-year-old to rest for four weeks.
Pakistan are set to name their squad later this week and the selectors will now have to find a replacement for Junaid.
The five-match ODI series between New Zealand and Pakistan will begin on January 6 in Wellington, while the three-match Twenty20 series that follows will get underway on January 22 at the same venue.
