After amassing a mammoth score of 600, India took five wickets to leave Sri Lanka in all kinds of trouble at the end of the second day of the first Test in Galle.
Starting off the day on 399/3, India added 24 runs to their overnight score before Cheteshwar Pujara was caught behind off the bowling of Nuwan Pradeep for 153 off 265 balls, which included 13 boundaries.
Ajinkya Rahane fell shortly after as he was dismissed by Lahiru Kumara for 57, which came off 130 deliveries and included three boundaries.
Ravichandran Ashwin and wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha stabilised the innings with a 59-run partnership before Saha was sent packing by stand-in captain Rangana Herath for 16.
Ashwin went on to make 47 before he was caught behind off the bowling of Pradeep.
Ravindra Jadeja only mustered 15 runs before he was clean bowled by Pradeep, but debutant Hardik Pandya and Mohammed Shami steadied things with a 62-run stand before Shami was removed by Kumara for 30.
India ended up being bowled out for 600 when Pandya was dismissed by Kumara for 50, which came off 49 balls and included five boundaries and three sixes.

Pradeep was the pick of the bowlers with six wickets, while Kumara snapped up three and Herath chipped in with one.

Trailing by 600 runs, Sri Lanka got off to a horrible start as opener Dimuth Karunaratne was given out lbw off the bowling of Umesh Yadav for just two runs.
Upul Tharanga and Danushka Gunathilaka made up for the loss of Karunaratne with a 61-run partnership before Gunathilaka was caught by Shikhar Dhawan at first slip off the bowling of Shami for 16.
Shami struck again four balls later as Kusal Mendis, who failed to trouble the scorers, suffered the same fate as Gunathilaka.
Just as Sri Lanka were beginning to rebuild their innings via a 57-run partnership between Tharanga and Angelo Mathews, Tharanga was run out by Abhinav Mukund for 64 off 93 balls, which included 10 boundaries.

Sri Lanka’s woes continued when wicketkeeper Niroshan Dickwella was caught by Mukund at silly point off the bowling of Ashwin for eight runs.
Mathews and Dilruwan Perera ensured Sri Lanka made it safely to stumps as they put together an unbeaten 11-run partnership.
Mathews finished on 54 off 91 balls, which included eight boundaries and a six, while Dilruwan remained undefeated on six.

Shami was the most successful bowler with two wickets, while Yadav and Ashwin claimed one wicket each.
Sri Lanka ended day two on 154/5 and will continue batting on Friday at 10:00 local time or 04:30 GMT.
