Kings XI Punjab all-rounder Marcus Stoinis will play no further part in this year’s Indian Premier League (IPL) after he injured his shoulder.

Stoinis suffered the injury when he landed awkwardly while taking a catch during his side’s training session prior to their clash with the Royal Challengers Bangalore on Friday.

The 27-year-old failed to have much of an impact in the five games he played as he scored 17 runs at an average of 5.66 and took two wickets at an average of 55.

To make matters worse for the Kings XI, they could lose opener Hashim Amla and batsman David Miller after their match against the Gujarat Lions on Sunday.

Should Amla and Miller leave, it will be to link up with their South African team-mates ahead of their ODI series against England and the Champions Trophy.
