Yasir ended the day with figures of 6-90 off 39 overs

Pakistan spinner Yasir Shah took a six-wicket haul to put his side in a good position heading into the final day of the second Test in Barbados.

Yasir ripped through the West Indies’ batting line-up with relative ease, but thanks to batsman Shai Hope, the hosts currently have a 183-run lead in hand.

Starting off the day on 40/1, the West Indies lost batsman Shimron Hetmeyer early on as he was clean bowled by Mohammad Amir for 22.

Kraigg Brathwaite and Hope stabilised the innings with a 56-run partnership before Brathwaite was dismissed by Yasir for 43.

Hope and Roston Chase kept the runs flowing with a 58-run stand before Chase was caught and bowled by Yasir for 23.

Hope and Vishaul Singh continued to keep the scoreboard ticking as the put together an 80-run partnership, during which Hope sailed past his fifty.

However, just as Hope was approaching his maiden Test hundred, disaster struck as he fell to Yasir for a career-best 90, which came off 209 balls and included eight boundaries and a six.

The West Indies began to collapse after Hope’s dismissal as they went from 235/5 to being reduced to 261/9.

With Yasir having spearheaded the West Indies’ lower order collapse, the hosts found themselves in a spot of bother.

However, Devendra Bishoo and Shannon Gabriel ensured they didn’t get bowled out as they amassed an unbeaten three-run partnership before stumps was called.

Bishoo finished on 16 off 48 balls, which included a boundary, while Gabriel has yet to get off the mark.

Yasir was easily the pick of the bowlers with six wickets, while Mohammad Abbas snapped up two and Amir claimed one.

The West Indies ended day four on 264/9 and will continue batting on Thursday at 10:00 local time or 14:00 GMT.
