The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have sent a notice of dispute to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for failing to abide by the promises made in the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) they signed in 2014.

The PCB and BCCI had agreed to play six bilateral series between 2015 and 2023, with four of them being hosted by Pakistan.

India were supposed to play Pakistan in December 2015, but since the series did not go ahead, the PCB claim that they incurred heavy losses, but did not disclose the amount.

The PCB had threatened to take legal action against the BCCI, but according to the International Cricket Council (ICC) Dispute Resolution Committee’s terms of reference, a member should exercise Clause 5, which states the need for negotiations and three attempts to resolve the dispute.

The BCCI now have seven days to respond to the PCB, and should they do positively, a meeting will take place between officials from the two boards.

If the PCB and BCCI fail to find common ground, the matter will be handled by the ICC dispute resolution committee, which will establish a panel to hear the case.
