Bangladesh have recalled pace bowler Shafiul Islam for the Champions Trophy in England in June.

Shafiul last played an ODI in October last year and has been sidelined after that as he injured his hamstring while participating in the Bangladesh Premier League.

Other than the addition of Shafiul, there were no major surprises as Bangladesh opted to retain all their regular players.

Wicketkeeper-batsman Nurul Hasan and seamer Subashis Roy failed to make the cut for the Champions Trophy squad, but were included in a preliminary squad for a training camp in Sussex from April 26 to May 6.

The duo have also been included in the squad for the ODI tri-series against Ireland and New Zealand.

All-rounder Shuvagata Hom was omitted from both squads as chief selector Minhajul Abedin pointed out that fewer spinners are needed in English conditions as they are typically more suited to fast bowlers.

Bangladesh’s Champions Trophy Squad: Tamim Iqbal, Soumya Sarkar, Imrul Kayes, Mushfiqur Rahim (wk), Shakib Al Hasan, Sabbir Rahman, Mahmudullah, Mosaddek Hossain, Mashrafe Mortaza (capt), Mustafizur Rahman, Rubel Hossain, Taskin Ahmed, Sunzamul Islam, Mehedi Hasan, Shafiul Islam
