Pakistan seamer Hasan Ali took two wickets during an incredibly economical spell to lead his side to a convincing seven-wicket win over the West Indies in the fourth Twenty20 International in Trinidad.

Hasan was well supported by opening batsman Ahmed Shehzad, who thumped a quickfire 53, as Pakistan clinched the series 3-1.

Opting to bowl first, Pakistan took out West Indies opener Evin Lewis for seven runs before Shadab Khan got rid of Chadwick Walton, who was looking dangerous on 40.

Following Walton’s dismissal, the West Indies collapsed in unbelievable fashion as they went from 52/2 to being reduced to 83/7. Hasan took both his wickets during this period of time as he got rid of Marlon Samuels and Jason Mohammed for 22 and one run respectively.

With the hosts reeling, captain Carlos Brathwaite came to the rescue with an unbeaten 37, which came off 24 balls and included two boundaries and two sixes.

Thanks to Brathwaite’s much-needed contribution towards the end of the innings, the West Indies finished on 124/8 off their 20 overs.

Hasan and Shadab picked up two wickets apiece, while Imad Wasim, Wahab Riaz and Rumman Raees chipped in with one wicket apiece.

Chasing 125 to win, Pakistan got off to a solid start before opener Kamran Akmal was removed by Samuels for 20.

Shehzad and Babar Azam stabilised the innings with a 70-run partnership, during which Shehzad brought up his half-century.

However, he was unable to make the most of it as he was clean bowled by Kesrick Williams for 53 off 45 balls, which included six boundaries and a six.

Williams struck again in his next over as he took out Azam for 38, but it didn’t matter in the end as Pakistan managed to cross the finish line with an over to spare.

Williams was the most successful bowler with two wickets, while Samuels claimed one.

Hasan was named Man of the Match, while Shadab received the Man of the Series award.
