Irfan has allegedly admitted “his involvement in spot-fixing”

Pakistan left-arm seamer Mohammad Irfan has opted not to contest the Notice of Charge issued to him by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), according to The Nation.

The Pakistan news site also reported that Irfan has confessed to all the charges against him regarding the Pakistan Super League (PSL) corruption scandal and has vowed to help the PCB in their investigation.

“After admitting the charges leveled against Irfan, now the PCB will form a disciplinary committee to hear his case thoroughly,” unnamed sources told The Nation. “Now the committee will decide whether to take stern action against the pacer, give a light punishment or forgive him for helping the board in finding out other culprits or forgive him.

“After Irfan admitting his involvement in spot-fixing, now the three-member committee will decide about the fixing case, not the PCB tribunal.”

Irfan is one of four cricketers that have been provisionally suspended by the PCB. The other three are Sharjeel Khan, Khalid Latif and Shahzaib Hasan.
