South Africa pace bowler Lungi Ngidi has been ruled out of the upcoming ODI series against New Zealand as he has not sufficiently recovered from a hip injury.
Ngidi sustained the injury in the third Twenty20 International against Sri Lanka last month and was subsequently sidelined for the ongoing five-match ODI series.
The only other change is the addition of seamer Dane Paterson, who will head to New Zealand as cover for fellow fast bowler Dwaine Pretorius as he is awaiting the birth of his first child.
Meanwhile, batsman David Miller, who injured his hand in the second ODI against Sri Lanka on February 1, has made a full recovery and will be available for selection.
“We, as selectors are very happy with the way the squad has gelled over the past 6 months and consistency in selection is very important as we continue our build-up towards the ICC Champions Trophy tournament,” Linda Zondi, South Africa’s convener of selectors said.
South Africa ODI squad: AB de Villiers (capt), Faf du Plessis, Hashim Amla, Farhaan Behardien, Quinton de Kock (wk), JP Duminy, Imran Tahir, David Miller, Chris Morris, Wayne Parnell, Dane Paterson, Andile Phehlukwayo, Dwaine Pretorius, Kagiso Rabada, Tabraiz Shamsi.
