Bangladesh have included the spin duo of Taijul Islam and Shuvagata Hom in their squad for the first Twenty20 International against New Zealand on Tuesday.
Shuvagata last played Twenty20 cricket at the World Twenty20 in India in March, while Taijul has yet to make his debut in the shortest format.
Seamer Rubel Hossain and batsman Soumya Sarkar were retained despite disappointing showings in the recently concluded three-match ODI series.
However, it was a different story for Tanbir Hayder and Mehedi Hasan as they were both dropped. Hayder played in the second and third ODIs, but failed to have much of an impact, while Mehedi was not selected throughout the ODI series.
Bangladesh squad for first T20: Mashrafe Mortaza (capt), Tamim Iqbal, Imrul Kayes, Soumya Sarkar, Sabbir Rahman, Mahmudullah, Shakib Al Hasan (vice-capt), Mosaddek Hossain, Rubel Hossain, Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman, Shuvagata Hom, Subashis Roy, Taijul Islam, Nurul Hasan (wk).
