Bangladesh have added left-arm spinner Mosharraf Hossain to their squad as a replacement for Rubel Hossain for the third and final ODI against Afghanistan on Saturday.

Even though Mosharraf has not played ODI cricket since March 2008, the decision to include him in the side was taken during a selection meeting on Wednesday night after Bangladesh were beaten by two wickets in the second ODI.

Mosharraf has played three ODIs in his career, all of which came in March 2008, before he joined the now-defunct Indian Cricket League (ICL).

He last received a national call-up over three years ago for a three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka, but he did not feature in any of the games.

The 34-year-old was then provisionally banned for allegedly being part of the 2013 Bangladesh Premier League fixing controversy, but he was later cleared of any wrongdoing by the investigation tribunal.

With the ODI series between Bangladesh and Afghanistan tied at 1-1, it will be all to play for on Saturday.
