A number of high-profile players, including Batting with Bimal columnist Sufyan Mehmood, will be participating in a charity cricket match hosted by the International Cricketers Association in Manchester on August 1.
Mehmood, who made his debut at the ACC T20 in 2009, will make history by becoming the first Omani player to feature in the event, which also boasts players such as Shahid Afridi, Saeed Ajmal, Niall O’Brien and Simon Jones.
There will be a charity dinner on July 27, while the match itself will be played five days later.
Speaking about the event, Mehmood told Batting with Bimal: “It’s going to be a big moment for me as I will be playing alongside top world-class players. It will also be a good learning experience for me. I am excited and looking forward to it!”
As of one of the young, up-and-coming talents in Oman, Mehmood has already built up quite a name for himself and recently represented his country in the 2016 Asia Cup and World Twenty20. With that being said, he is expected to shine at the event.
