Former Pakistan all-rounder Abdul Razzaq struck a quickfire 39 and bowled a brilliant final over to lead the Capricorn Commanders to a three-run win over the Sagittarius Strikers.

Commanders captain Paul Collingwood would have been content with his decision to bat first as Razzaq and Saleem Elahi were the only two batsmen to have an impact.

Razzaq powered his way to 39 off 25 balls, which included two boundaries and two sixes, while Elahi refused to give his wicket away and finished unbeaten on 43 off 45 deliveries, which included two boundaries and a six.

Thanks to Razzaq and Elahi, the Commanders finished on 146/5 off their 20 overs.

Nathan Hauritz was the pick of the bowlers with two wickets, while Yasir Arafat and Krishmar Santokie chipped in with one wicket apiece.

Chasing 147 to win, Yasir Hameed laid the foundations with a solid knock of 32 before Strikers skipper Adam Gilchrist took over and blasted 57 off 46 balls, which included six boundaries.

Needing nine runs to win off the last over, Razzaq only conceded five runs and claimed the wicket of Michael Carberry in the process to lead the Commanders to a thrilling win.

Jeetan Patel was the most successful bowler with two wickets, while Razzaq, Rikki Clarke, Ben Laughlin and Upul Chandana took one wicket each.

Razzaq was named Man of the Match.
