South Africa have dropped opening batsman Stiaan van Zyl for the fourth and final Test against England in Centurion.

Van Zyl has struggled throughout the series, scoring just 69 runs at a dreary average of 13.80. As a result, uncapped batsman Stephen Cook, who was called up to the squad, is set to make his Test debut.

Cook has been in exceptional form as of late as he scored 168 not out, 118 and 76 in his last three matches for Lions in the Sunfoil Series, which is South Africa’s domestic first-class competition.

Meanwhile, wicketkeeper-batsman Quinton de Kock will undergo a fitness test prior to the match in order to ensure he has fully recovered from a knee injury, which he sustained while walking his dog on the eve of the third Test in Johannesburg.

South Africa will be looking to earn a consolation win in Centurion as England already hold an unassailable 2-0 lead heading into the match.
